When strong and fearless voices combine to create something beautiful, the end result echoes far and wide!

We are happy to announce CollabConversation – a new series of conversations that explores the exciting world of musical collaborations in the contemporary Indian music scene, curated and moderated by well-known music journalist Amit Gurbaxani. Join us for our first CollabConversation featuring Mumbai-based singer-songwriter Mali, whose collaboration with Indo-Canadian producer Arnob Bal, resulted in the album Caution to the Wind!

According to Amit, “Singer-songwriter Mali’s debut album Caution To The Wind is without doubt one of the best Indian independent music releases of this year. The record, which draws heavily from her musical inspirations from the 1970s and ’80s, is among the few indie albums where the producer Arnob Bal, shaped the sound as much as the artist.”

About the artists:

Amit Gurbaxani is a music journalist who specializes in writing about business trends in the Indian music industry and the workings of its independent scene.

Mali, born Maalavika Manoj, has worked with some of the biggest names in the Indian music business such as Oscar & Grammy award-winning music composer AR Rahman and Anirudh Ravichander. She has toured the world and has been listed as one of “India’s 30 Under 30” by Forbes.

Arnob Bal is a producer/composer based in Mumbai and Toronto. He has produced albums for a variety of acts in both India and Canada and also releases solo music under the name FamLi.

With fresh perspectives, new ideas, and enlightening conversations on music, this series promises to be an eye-opener for all music enthusiasts and musicians.
